Teens Produce PSA To Combat Teen Seatbelt Non-Compliance

buckle-up-dudeOne out of every two teens driving or riding as a front seat passenger don’t buckle up. In the back seat, only one in four uses a seatbelt. As a result over 200 teens die and 200,000 are injured annually in car crashes involving unbelted drivers and passengers.

A group called Teens In the Driver’s Seat teamed up with the band 2 Weeks Notice to produce a rock-and-roll style public service announcement entitled “Buckle Up, Dude” in cooperation with a National Highway Transportation and Safety Board initiative to combat teen seatbelt non-compliance. The PSA began airing in Texas.

Congratulations to the Teens group for being pro-active and creative in fighting the number four risk factor for death among teens!
