The driver of an 18 wheeler hauling a load of lumber lost control of his semi, dumping his load of lumber across I-49. The driver of the truck had to be cut from the vehicle and was coherent and talking to authorities at the scene, according to the police of the Sunset Police Department near Opleousas, Louisiana. The police department is conducting a further investigation to determine why the driver lost control. We await the results of the investigation to see if the truck driver was fatigued from too many hours of service or whether a medical condition or simply negligence for failure to maintain control of his rig, was the cause of the accident.
