Dense morning fog limited visibility leading to several crashes on 1-49 this morning, and turned both the northbound and southbound lanes of the Interstate into parking lots.
Trooper David Anderson of Louisiana State Police Troop I confirmed to the media that two are dead and others remained trapped in their vehicles.
The first wreck occurred around 6AM near Lake Dubisson, about 15 miles north of Opelousas. Further details about the crashes and victims are pending.
